CRIG Doctoral Schools specialist course on 'Cancer' - 2019

CRIG organizes for the second time a Doctoral Schools specialist course on ‘Cancer’, which has been recognized by the Doctoral Schools Life Sciences & Medicine. One of CRIG’s important aims is to educate young cancer researchers, and we believe this program is a great opportunity and added value for UGent PhD students involved in cancer research. Considering the fast evolving trends in cancer research, this specialized educational course, lectured by CRIG experts, can meet the needs of pre-doctoral cancer researchers with variable educational background and active in different cancer research disciplines.

Target audience & registration terms

The course is targeted to and open for Ghent University PhD students with different educational background, who are involved in cancer research, and are enrolled in the Doctoral Schools of Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and/or (Bioscience) Engineering. Remark: PhD students enrolled in the Doctoral Schools of Natural Sciences and (Bioscience) Engineering are allowed to register but are required to submit an application for recognition to include this course in their Doctoral Training Program. Half of the available places (or more) are foreseen for PhD students from the Doctoral Schools of Life Sciences & Medicine. This course is free of charge.

Pre-registration is possible via the link below. Important: your pre-registration will be screened by the Doctoral Schools and your registration will only be final upon confirmation by mail later.

Format

As this course is open for PhD students with different educational background, we offer the participants the flexibility to choose from a set of 6 different modules (each of which covering various topics and speakers), resulting in a tailored educational package for each individual participant (see full program further)

Each participant needs a minimum of contact hours to meet the Doctoral Schools requirements.

  • Minimal requirement: participation to at least 4 modules
(important remark: each module represents a separate, well-defined educational package and thus can be followed separately from the other modules)
  • Participants are allowed to follow all modules (if you want to attend OncoPoint: do not forget to register for this symposium via this link as well)
  • At registration, each participant needs to indicate which modules will be followed
