CRIG 'young investigator proof-of-concept projects’: laureates 8th call
CRIG provides research grants for young (postdoctoral) cancer researchers at CRIG to initiate potentially high-risk and innovative cancer research projects. Thanks to the money raised during ‘De Warmste Week’ (more info), we are able to increase our project funding with 50% and thus support more projects in 2020!
In this 8th call, following postdocs were awarded, and have started their project in October 2020:
- Dr. Francis Combes – ‘Transcriptional targeting of hepatocellular carcinoma for cancer cell-specific delivery of therapeutic genes’ (promotor of the grant: prof. Niek Sanders)
- Dr. Bram De Laere - 'Quantitative analysis of androgen receptor perturbations using a blood-based liquid biopsy as a treatment-predictive biomarker for men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer' (promotors of the grant: prof. Piet Ost & prof. Jo Vandesompele)
- Dr. Ioanna Petta - 'Study of the role of intestinal goblet cells and the mucus barrier during the development of colorectal cancer' (promotor of the grant: prof. Lars Vereecke)
- Dr. Nora Sundahl - 'Intestinal Microbiota in Prostate Cancer patients as a Biomarker for Radiation-INduced Toxicity (IMPRINT): a Prospective Biomarker Study' (promotor of the grant: prof. Piet Ost)
The next call for these 'young investigator proof-of-concept' (YIPOC) projects will be launched end of this year.
