CRIG 'young investigator proof-of-concept projects’: laureates 4th call
CRIG provides research grants for young (postdoctoral) cancer researchers at CRIG to initiate potentially high-risk and innovative cancer research projects. In this 4th call, following postdocs were awarded, and have started their project on October 1, 2018:
dr. Esther Hoste – ‘Investigating severe inflammation and aberrant stem cell proliferation in Otulin‐deficient mouse epidermis through single‐cell RNA‐sequencing’ (promotor of the grant: prof. Geert van Loo)
dr. Sofie Peirs – ‘In vivo evaluation of a novel chalcone compound for the treatment of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia’ (promotor of the grant: prof. Pieter Van Vlierberghe)
dr. Ioanna Petta – ‘Study of microbiota-host interactions during colorectal cancer development using germfree and gnotobiotic mouse technology’ (promotors of the grant: prof. Lars Vereecke, prof. Geert Berx)
dr. Sofie Van Gassen - 'Development of a 28-color flow cytometry panel for immunophenotyping AML samples' (promotors of the grant: prof. Yvan Saeys, prof. Tessa Kerre and prof. Jan Philippé)
Despite high quality of submitted projects, only top-ranked applications were granted due to limited resources. The next call for these YIPOC (young investigator proof-of-concept) projects will be launched end of this year.
