Research focus

  • the molecular cytogenetics of haematological malignancies – identification tumour suppressor genes and oncogenes, dissection of deregulated cellular pathways involved in malignant transformation
  • prognostic, diagnostic and therapeutic relevance of acquired genetic defects in malignancies
  • counselling, molecular genetic analysis and management of familial and hereditary cancer
  • the molecular genetics of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer: role of BRCA1, BRCA2 and other (candidate) tumour suppressor genes
  • psychological issues in presymptomatic testing for a hereditary predisposition to cancer
