Assistant professor (End-of-Life Care Research Group, Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UGent&VUB)
Research focus
I am chair of the “Palliative care for people with cancer” Research Programme at the End-of-Life Care Research Group and I am also responsible for the research in pediatric palliative care.
I have a master’s degree in experimental and theoretical psychology and a PhD degree in Social Health Sciences (2015). My PhD on identifying and addressing palliative care needs throughout the illness trajectory has been awarded with the Prijs Hoge Gezondheidsraad 2016.
My particular interest is in supportive care, palliative care and care for people with cancer and their families, including a focus on minors.
I have experience with conducting various methodologies: qualitative interviews/focus groups, cross-sectional surveys, population-based studies, using administrative datasets and (cluster) randomized trials.
