Biography

I obtained a Master in Biomedical Sciences (KU Leuven, June 2014). After obtaining my master degree followed by some working experience in biotech industry (Sanofi), I started in 2017 with a PhD in the lab of Professor Bert Callewaert. I mainly focused on the use of zebrafish as a model for rare hereditary connective tissue disorders and next-generation sequencing techniques to identify novel disease genes. In June 2021 I obtained my PhD degree, and immediately after that I reoriented my professional goals and became a lab supervisor within the center of medical genetics (supervised by prof. dr. Kathleen Claes).
