'Robot-Assisted Surgery' - research lunch organized by Dept. HSR
The department of Human Structure and Repair hosts a series of thematic ‘research lunch’ meetings.
The fourth upcoming research lunch is about Robot-Assisted Surgery and will be moderated by prof. Karel Decaestecker.
AI and robotics are currently impacting all aspects of surgery: pre-operative planning, intra-operative awareness and post-operative analysis. In the 2 talks, the added value of both AI and robotics will be explained for renal cancer surgery and total knee arthroplasty.
2 lectures:
1) Robot-Assisted Total knee arthroplasty – Surgical considerations
presented by Hannes Vermue, Orthopaedics and Traumatology Research Group
2) AI in robot assisted urological surgery
presented by Pieter De Backer, Urology Research Group
