prof. Piet Ost received AstraZeneca Foundation Award Oncology

The AstraZeneca Foundation, the FWO 'Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek – Vlaanderen' and the F.R.S. - FNRS (Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique) awarded 4 researchers in the 2018 edition of the AstraZeneca Foundation Awards. De winners of 2018 are Prof. dr. Piet Ost (UGent, CRIG), Prof. dr. Filip Raes (KU Leuven), Dr. Pauline Boeckxstaens (UGent) en Dr. Thomas Marichal (ULiège). These professors are awarded for their groundbreaking research and each receive an award of 25 000 EUR.

CRIG group leader prof. Piet Ost was awarded for his innovative approach in the treatment of prostate cancer, in which local treatment of oligometastases is applied to delay progression of the disease. The research is thus an important step to improve the treatment of prostate cancer patients.
