Prof. Depypere interviewed about the link between breast cancer and hormone treatment during menopause

A survey by the Belgian Society for Menopause (BVM) among more than 1,300 women and about sixty doctors shows that women experience their menopause completely differently from what doctors think about it.
CRIG group leader Prof. Herman Depypere explains why women today unjustly think that hormone treatment, which can remedy menopause symptoms, increases the risk of breast cancer.
On the other hand, the needless taking of the birth control pill by women who do not know that they are in menopause, does increase the risk of breast cancer.
