'De culturele jukebox' @UZGent - culture for (cancer) patients

CRIG

CRIG contributed to the ‘Culturele Jukebox' project, an initiative of Prof. Tessa Kerre at UZ Gent, based on the experience that art and culture can make a difference for patients. To tackle the (often long lasting) isolation of cancer patients, volunteers will play some music, read aloud, or bring another cultural activity on request of the patient, in a personal one-on-one setting.

The kick-off of this project took place on Dec 15, with a program by volunteers (researchers and caregivers) of CRIG and Kankercentrum UZ Gent, in the context of De Warmste Week. The kick-off program was streamed on the televisions at UZ Gent to give the scoop to the patients.
The full recording is available below, so you can enjoy and watch the talent and warm contributions of cancer researchers and care givers!

The 'cultural jukebox' initiative was taken in collaboration with the Department of Hematology, UZ Kankercentrum, CRIG & with special thanks to 'Fonds Prinses Delphine van Saksen-Coburg' which aims to support patients with art. The fund was officially opened on Dec 10 with great interest from the media.
