'Tumor-immune interactions and the tumor microenvironment' - research lunch organized by Dept. HSR

The department of Human Structure and Repair hosts a series of thematic ‘research lunch’ meetings.
The third upcoming research lunch is about Tumor-immune interactions and the tumor microenvironment and will be moderated by CRIG group leader prof. Jimmy Van den Eynden.

The tumor microenvironment (TME) has an emerging role in cancer development as illustrated by the success of cancer immunotherapy during the past decade. In this seminar will be discussed:

  • the putative genomic alterations that result from tumor-immune interactions
  • the effects of chemotherapy treatment on the peritoneal metastatic TME

2 lectures:

1) Lessons learned from studying tumor-immune interactions and immune selection in large public
    cancer genomic datasets

presented by Arne Claeys, Unit of Anatomy and Embryology, Computational Cancer Genomics and
    Evolution lab

2) Dissecting the microenvironment of patients: our approach
presented by dr. Jesse Demuytere, Laboratory of Experimental Surgery
