'SUMOylation in the regulation chromatin networks and transcriptional outputs of androgen and glucocorticoid receptor' - Invited speaker seminar

'Meet the PhD Jury' invited speaker seminar by Prof. Dr. Jorma PALVIMO (UEF, Finland) for all people with interests in transcriptional regulation, chromatin networks, nuclear receptors, BioID, mass spec, etc.

Prof. Palvimo's pioneering studies with nuclear receptor coregulators and their action in epigenetic regulation have significantly contributed to our understanding how steroid hormones exert their actions by altering gene activity and programs. Prof. Palvimo was also the first to show that SUMO modifications regulate nuclear receptors’ activity and to demonstrate the existence of a novel PIAS protein-mediated and SUMO-based system that regulates transcription in a target gene selective fashion. His team is using genome- and proteome-wide tools, including RNA-, GRO-, ChIP- and ATAC-seq, and ChIP-SICAP, RIME and BioID MS proteomics with human prostate cancer cells, reprogrammable somatic cells, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells as main model systems.
