Film Fest UGent college & CRIG

Together with Film Fest Ghent, Ghent University organizes morning colleges in which UGent professors trade their auditoria for a cinema hall. The professors first give a short introduction to a movie, linked to their expertise domain. After the movie, they give their lesson, using certain aspects of the movie as starting point.

On October 17, CRIG group leader prof. Tessa Kerre will show that there is more to medicine than subscribing pills and will highlight the added value of bibliotherapy, reading and books as part of therapy for cancer patients, following the film 'All of us' (2019). In this movie, terminal patients come together in a self-help group, under the care of an inexperienced therapist. One of the patients is Cathy, a housewife who wants to keep the bad news of her impending passing secret for her family...

UGent furthermore uses this film to highlight the importance of cancer research and thus the importance of CRIG, as such calling people to donate to CRIG.
