Scope

Autumn 2021 will sign the 5th year since the Cancer Research Institute Ghent (CRIG) kicked off in 2016, and we are glad to celebrate this anniversary with you.

Following the success of its first 2 editions (in 2017 and 2019), the Cancer Research Institute Ghent is pleased to announce the 3rd CRIG industrial partnering event on Friday 22nd October 2021. Because of the pandemic-dependent uncertainty, both on-site participation in Ghent and online participation via live stream are offered. At this moment, we expect attendance on site is possible with the only restriction to the use a face mask (of course, we pay attention to possible changes in the governmental regulations and with full attention to the safety of the participants).

As for the previous editions, the aim of the CRIG industrial partnering event is to create a forum for academia and industry to present and discuss current break-through research, and clinical and industrial innovations in the field of cancer research and treatment. Our final goal is to bring innovations faster to the cancer patients.

We welcome principal investigators, clinicians and senior postdocs from CRIG and research/non-profit institutions, as well as company delegates active in the field of life sciences to join our event and partner with us.

Program

We look forward to an exciting and diverse program with industrial and academic speakers. The event features 3 plenary talks with invited speakers, and 8 parallel sessions with short pitches.

Brainstorm with us at the Breakfast Tables

Join our Breakfast Tables where innovators in oncology will discuss the key opportunities and challenges in developing new cancer treatments, diagnostics and tools. We will debate on:

  • the importance of cancer models and the in vitro and in vivo models that CRIG can offer to help your R&D program
  • what is still needed for cell and gene therapy to become implemented in daily practice
  • how mining of existing data can sustain the growing needs in cancer research and treatment

Do you have a topic you wish to discuss with your oncology peers? Send us a message by mail to Cristina.Pintucci@UGent.be.
