Research focus

Research concentrating on the perspectives of AYAs (‘Adolescents and Young Adults’-16-35y), who either face a life-threatening or chronic illness (e.g. cancer) or need to deal with the long-term consequences of a childhood illness experience.  Other research aim to provide insight in the experiences and needs of the network of the AYA, such as their parents, partner, siblings etc. Based on these insights, age-appropriate care interventions and experience-oriented tools are developed and implemented in clinical care, societal awareness is strengthened in focusing on education and policy making.
