Description

Our sugar analysis is a high throughput (96-well format) N-glycosylation analysis technology. It runs fluorescently labelled N-glycans on a capillary electrophoresis machine (DNA sequencer). Due to the particular setup, the technology is capable of resolves isobaric (same MW, only differing in a specific glycosidic linkage) N-glycans with an extremely high sensitivity (fM range). The source of those glycans is either a pure protein, or a mixture containing glycoproteins (e.g. serum). Other oligosaccharides with a reducing end can also be analyzed. As an input we need about 5 µg of glycoprotein or 5 µl of serum (for other sources, contact us to discuss).

Applying exoglycosidase digests we can assign structures to most or even all glycan peaks. The result you can expect is an overview of the different glycotypes and relative abundances of N-glycans in your sample.

As differential N-glycosylation turns out to be a more and more important aspect in cancer biology, this technology could be interesting for cancer research.
