CRIG researcher Tim Bomberna wrote a book about how technology is impacting medicine, as such causing a true medical revolution

Other

Tim Bomberna is a biomedical engineer working on the optimization of transarterial therapies for liver cancer by developing patient-specific computer models of blood flow and particle distribution in the arterial network of the liver.

From that position, he has a very good view of new technological developments within medicine, such as organ printing, artificial intelligence and robotics. According to him, we are in the midst of a revolution.

This medical revolution is exciting, but also holds important challenges, as lots of these new technologies can also be used negatively. In his book, Tim describes this balancing act and makes a case for seizing the golden opportunities of this medical revolution, while recognizing and addressing the dangers it poses.
