Single Cell Auto Prep system for genome and transcriptome sequencing.
The Fluidigm C1 Single-Cell Auto Prep System is a microfluidics based device that can capture up to 96 single cells. The cells are automatically captured and lysed and also the cDNA is synthesized in the C1. At the end, cDNA of single cells can be harvested and used as template for mRNA sequencing, DNA sequencing and epigenetics. Since this is an open and user-friendly system, new applications can be developed and shared between users. Advantages compared with other single cell technologies are that you get full length cDNA and that you can visualize the single cells with a microscope.
