World Cancer Day

In the context of World Cancer Day, the Cancer Centre (Kankercentrum) of UZ Gent and CRIG decided to organize an afternoon and evening program to inform patients, relatives, caregivers and the broad public about cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and care.

Between 3 pm and 5 pm, mini-tours are organized in a cancer research lab, the radiotherapy facility and the wellness area.

From 4 pm till 5.45 pm you can meet caregivers and experts about selected topics such as cancer prevention, cancer & nutrition and what happens behind the scenes.

During the infosession in the evening (7 pm till 10 pm), prof. Lieven Annemans and prof. Kahtleen Claes (both CRIG group leaders) will give a presentation on the affordability of cancer medicines and the future of cancer treatments respectively, followed by a panel debate with doctors, caregivers and a patient, moderated by Ivan De Vadder.

All sessions are freely accessible, but registration is highly recommended.

All info and registration via the 'World Cancer Day' page on the UZ website (in Dutch).
