We are active in the field of heat shock response and dormancy in a model organism Artemia. The brine shrimp makes stress resistant resting “eggs” characterized by the fact that they are produced and released in a dormant state. Maintaining this dormancy and different levels of dormancy is considered to be the opposite physiological status to cell proliferation. Cell arrest in Artemia has been studied making use of whole genome sequencing and RNAseq studies
