f-Tales workshop 'Nanomaterials in Biomedical Sciences'

Focus:

The tremendous potential of nanomaterials for biomedical applications has long been recognized. The past decade, the use of nanomaterials has been extensively exploited in different bio-fields, including drug delivery, (pre-) clinical imaging, in vitro and in vivo diagnosis and theragnosis. Besides significant steps forward, it remains a crucial challenge to translate nanomaterials in biomedical and clinical applications.

To this end, in the 2-days workshop Nanomaterials in Biomedical Sciences it is the intention to highlight the potential of nanomaterials for biomedical applications. To successfully apply nanomaterials in biomedical sciences, a multidisciplinary approach is highly needed which positions this meeting at the interface between pharmacy, medicine, material chemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, … The meeting aims to provide a unique opportunity to PhD researchers and postdocs to meet top-level scientists working on various aspects of nanomaterials.

The Flanders Training Network Life Sciences (ƒ-TALES) is a joint training initiative of the 5 Flemish universities (Free University of Brussels, Ghent University, Hasselt University, KU Leuven and University of Antwerp) that offers top class workshops open to doctoral (and postdoctoral) researchers. Mission of this brand new training forum is to organize workshops with world-renowned speakers on hot topics in the field of Life Sciences. Read more...
