Mission

The Core Clinical Tissue & Cell Culture, a recognized core facility of Ghent University, offers all relevant basic equipment and expertise within the field of tissue and cell culture of human origin (or animal models representing human diseases).

This is an initiative of the UGent Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and is organized by a core team led by Prof. Olivier De Wever.

 

Expertise, services & infrastructure

Biosafety Level II, Cell culture lab “Seat” consisting of:  

  • Operational and validated LAF (laminar air flow) hoods
  • CO2 incubator 
  • Centrifugation (low speed)
  • Liquid handling equipment (micropipettes and pipette boy)
  • Conventional microscope for visualization and inspection of cultures 
  • Incubation baths (water or other, depending on availability)
  • Quality control
