CRIG researchers help build the most comprehensive RNA-atlas ever

Together with the Baylor College of Medicine and the sequencing company Illumina, the team of CRIG group leader Prof. Pieter Mestdagh has built the most comprehensive RNA-atlas ever.

By sequencing the transcriptome of 300 human cell and tissue types with three complementary sequencing methods, they have especially expanded the catalog of human non-coding RNAs, as such generating an invaluable resource for the study of disease processes, including cancer.
