T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is a rare and aggressive cancer of precursor T- cells, most occurring in children. Nowadays, patients are treated with intensive chemotherapy. However, a significant number of patients relapse and become refractory to intensive treatment. Therefore, more effective and less toxic therapies are required. Lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) was described as a potential targeted therapy for T-ALL.
The focus of my research is to acquire a better understanding and to optimize the use of LSD1 inhibitors and other epigenetic drugs in T-ALL.
