Leading the business Development & valorisation of early-stage Medical Technologies (MedTech), Dr. Gilles Brackman is focussed on guiding a wide variety of stakeholders about moving Medtech innovations from clinical need to clinical impact.
This entails:
- Building the Medical Technology Ghent ecosystem
- Identification & creation of spin-off/start-up opportunities
- Accelerating and supporting IP-protection, regulatory-development & securing development opportunities (e.g. Licensing, co-development, funding and investments)
- Building sustainable partnerships with Medtech, healthtech, pharma/biotech and financial (VC/PE) industry
- Bridging between Research and commercialisation creating new business Opportunities
Biography
As a PhD, PharmD. and MBA holder, Dr. Gilles Brackman combines almost two decades of executive experience across the Medical Device, Medtech & Biotechnology drug-development lifecycle. With focus on corporate strategy, cross-functional innovationmanagement & business development, he has a proven track record of driving growth through R&D, via (pre)clinical trials (Ph0-III) to regulatory approval & (scientific) business development for novel Medical Devices and drug-device-combinations. He combines this with a strong-scientific background as an author of >50 A1 publications, 3 book (chapters), (Invited) speaker at >100 International conferences and Recipient of 4 international research & innovation awards. Passionate about helping people live the life they love by translating consumer needs into breakthrough innovations and viable business solutions.
