The petanque club De Leiehoek achieved the world record petanque, and played for more than 26 hours non-stop.
"For our good friend Bart Steyaert, who died of cancer at the age of 55," explains chairman Roland Van Daele. The returns will be donated to stimulate cancer research at CRIG.

On the website of Petanqueclub De Leiehoek , a memoriam for Bart Steyaert can be found (in Dutch).
