David Gleerup
Doctoral fellow - Department of Morphology – UGent, faculty of veterinary medicine.
Doctoral fellow - DIGPCR – UGent digital PCR center
Principal investigator: prof. Ward De Spiegelaere (PhD)
Research focus
Research focus is in digital PCR assay development and multiplexing. Due to the high accuracy and sensitivity of digital PCR it is ideally situated for applications involving circulating tumor DNA. Additionally the multiplexing potential will allow for applications in mutation screening or QC of CAR-T cells.
Biography
David Gleerup graduated from Roskilde University in 2020 with a Master’s degree in Molecular and Medicinal biology. Shortly after he Moved to Belgium and started working towards a Ph.D. degree within the field of molecular biology. The focus of his research is digital PCR assay design and higher order multiplexing. This lets him gain experience in not only digital PCR but also the fields which employs this technology, namely virology and oncology. During his Ph.D. work he has co-taught the digital PCR doctoral schools course and had a research stay in San Diego to explore the possibilities of digital high resolution melt.
