CRIG 'young investigator proof-of-concept projects’: laureates 2nd call
CRIG
CRIG provides research grants for young (postdoctoral) cancer researchers at CRIG to initiate potentially high-risk and innovative cancer research projects. In this 2nd call, following postdocs were awarded, and have started their project on October 1, 2017:
- dr. Heleen Dewitte – ‘Exploring immune activation by high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU): is there a link with immunogenic cell death?’
- dr. Joni Van der Meulen – ‘Targeted sequencing of circulating tumor DNA for therapy monitoring in metastatic melanoma’
- dr. Niels Vandamme – ‘Shaping heterogeneity of melanocytes and melanomas using single cell RNA-sequencing’
- dr. Katrien Vandecasteele – ‘Evaluation of radiation induced cell death modalities after chemoradiation for locally advanced cervical cancer and correlation with tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and outcome’
While the quality of submitted projects was outstanding, the jury could unfortunately only grant top-ranked applications due to limited resources. The next call for these YIPOC projects will be launched in December 2017.
