Research focus
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), as one of the most important platforms for drug and nucleic acid delivery, have demonstrated excellent delivery efficiency and safety in applications such as mRNA vaccines. However, conventional LNPs typically exhibit significant liver accumulation, limited targeting specificity, and insufficient ability to efficiently target tumor tissues in vivo, which greatly restrict their applications in cancer therapy.
My research focuses on developing an efficient targeted delivery system based on the conjugation of LNPs with nanobodies for precision cancer therapy. Using genetic code expansion technology, non-canonical amino acids are incorporated into the nanobodies, enabling site-specific conjugation to the surface of LNPs via click chemistry. This strategy allows active targeting of tumor cells and helps mitigate issues associated with traditional LNPs, such as undesired liver accumulation.
