Research Lunch about Multicellular Spheroids - hosted by the department of HSR
The department of Human Structure and Repair will host a series of thematic ‘research lunch’ meetings. The first upcoming research lunch is about Multicellular Spheroids and will be moderated by CRIG member prof. Ruslan Dmitriev.
‘Spheroids’, ‘microtissues’, ‘tumoroids’ and related 3D multicellular aggregate models can address many challenges of cancer biology, drug therapy, stem cell research, tissue engineering and biofabrication. However, working with ‘spheroids’ can represent significant challenges, e.g. in monitoring their oxygenation and standardization of produced data. The first meeting will address some of these issues.
2 lectures:
1) ‘Affordable O2 imaging microscopy-assisted biofabrication of spheroid-based microtissues’ -
dr. Irina Okkelman, Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials Research Group
2) 'MISpheroID: a knowledge base and transparency tool for minimum information in spheroid
identity' - Eva Blondeel, Laboratory of Experimental Cancer Research
- Venue: Classroom 5.3, Campus UZ Gent, Building B3, Entrance 46, 5th floor
