What is 'Kankercongres'?
After the success of the past years and a year's break to refresh the concept, we are organizing Kankercongres again this year. Once again this year, leading experts will provide a clear overview of the latest insights into cancer research, prevention, treatment and care. This edition, we are taking a slightly different approach:
- We are working with more parallel sessions, so that you can choose which topic appeals to you most and when you enjoy the delicious warm world cuisine dishes.
- We are offering a number of real 'do' workshops on exercise, nutrition, mindfulness and reading together (places for these are limited, so register quickly!).
- We are providing more interactive information stands where you can try out apps or test VR glasses, among other things.
A special moment this year will be the testimony of top athlete and decathlete Thomas Van der Plaetsen, who will share his personal story about dealing with illness, resilience and recovery.
Traditionally, we will conclude with a panel discussion with prominent opinion makers, moderated by Ivan De Vadder. This year's debate focuses on the central question: “Wie speelt welke rol in kankerbehandeling en -zorg?”

Target audience?
The aim is to inform a broad target audience of professionals (care givers, doctors, ... - accreditation for doctors is provided), researchers, patients and their relatives, students, and anyone that has interest in the topic. The experts will give clear and informative presentations (in Dutch). Everyone is able to follow.
