Research focus
Dr. Suzane Ribeiro primarily focuses on the care of patients with pancreatic and biliary tract tumors.
Her research focuses on identifying and developing molecular biomarkers involved in the progression of normal epithelium to high-grade dysplasia and pancreatic cancer. A pilot project is set up for this purpose, focusing on discovering potential molecular biomarkers in pancreatic fluids.
Meanwhile, she and her group offer screening of the pancreas to patients at high risk for pancreatic cancer, according to the CAPS protocol (The Cancer of the Pancreas Screening Study (CAPS), a research program developed to evaluate the effectiveness of early detection screening in high-risk individuals of pancreatic cancer).
She is also involved as a principal and sub-investigator in clinical studies investigating new therapies for patients with digestive tumors.
