Research focus

The NanoSensing Group focuses its research on the development of multifunctional nanoplatforms capable of optical sensing and therapy against cancer cells. 
Specifically, my research involves nanothermometers based on lanthanide-doped nanoparticles, as well as hybrid nanothermometers combining optical sensing and photodynamic therapy.
 

Biography

Bachelor in Chemistry (2014) from the Federal University of Espírito Santo - Brazil. Master of Science (2016) from the Institute of Chemistry of the University of São Paulo - Brazil (IQ-USP). Doctor of Science (2021) also from IQ-USP, with an 1-year internship at the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science at the Utrecht University - The Netherlands. Postdoctoral Researcher (2022-2024) at University of Turku - Finland. Currently Postdoctoral Researcher at Ghent University. Expertise in the field of luminescence and photochromic inorganic materials, focused on Scintillators, Persistent Luminescence, Tenebrescent materials and LED Devices, as well as pharmaceutical topical formulations. Currently, investigates lanthanide-based multifunctional nanomaterials for thermometry and photodynamic therapy applications. In parallel, conducts research in pharmaceutical technology and drug delivery systems in a collaboration with the Federal University of ABC - Brazil.
